Our cottages sit 109 feet apart along Ocean Bluff Lane in the midst of the Cape Cod National Seashore. They are cottages in the tradition of writer Henry Beston's small cottage on Coast Guard Beach where in the late 1920's he chronicled in a notebook on his kitchen table a year of his life with "the ceaseless rhythms of wind, sand and ocean." The result of his daily observances of the Cape's windswept and wild landscape and beachscape was the book "The Outermost House." In this natural sanctuary environment, one will find a setting similar to the one Beston found: "Solitary and elemental, unsullied and remote, visited and possessed by the outer sea, these sands might be the end or the beginning of a world." Our cottages are a short walk from the Highland Light, Coast Guard Beach and Truro Historical Museum. A natural privacy screen of tall bayberry and beach plum shrubs surround and shelter the pruned natural lawnscape, which is bordered by a sand-covered lane.
